The Mutton Renaissance Club, launched by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales in February, is to stage its second event on 30 November in London.
The event will be open to all members of the club which aims to bring together those involved in the production, processing, retailing and serving of high quality mutton.
With the focus of the day being on the retail and catering sectors of the Renaissance Mutton supply chain, the day will start at Borough Market. A tour of the market will include visits to producer retailers such as The Ginger Pig, Farmer Sharp and Northfield Farm and a butchery demonstration.
The Blue Print Café is the venue for a sumptuous mutton luncheon with guest speaker Martin Lam, chef and proprietor of Ransome’s Dock and member of The Academy of Culinary Arts. The cost of the day is £30.00.
Sara Jayne-Stanes Director of The Academy of Culinary Arts comments: “By exchanging ideas and experiences members, are better able to understand and negotiate the complexities of the speciality mutton market. Building relationships with trade partners is vital to a successful business and never more so than between a chef and his suppliers.”
While the demand for quality mutton continues to grow the Mutton Renaissance Club provides a forum for all sectors of the supply chain to share information ideas and expertise.
The Mutton Renaissance Club is open to anyone in the supply chain interested in the production, processing, retailing, cooking and serving of high quality mutton. Membership costs just £45 per year and is free to members of the National Sheep Association and Academy of Culinary Arts.
